WordPress e-commerce store for a sustainable brand

Zero Waste Bulgaria needed an online store that matched the care behind their products - reusable, nature-friendly, and waste-free. We designed and developed a full e-commerce experience on WordPress and WooCommerce: a product catalog with variations and smart filters, wishlist functionality, multi-language support via WPML, integrated payments for the Bulgarian market, and analytics tracking with Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and Hotjar. The result is a fast, mobile-friendly online store that reflects the brand's mission and gives the team full control over their content and products.

Bringing the zero waste mission online

Zero Waste Bulgaria had a clear purpose: make sustainable products accessible to anyone ready to reduce their everyday waste. They needed an online store that felt as natural and thoughtful as the products themselves - not another generic shop, but a space that communicates their values from the first click.

We chose WordPress with WooCommerce as the foundation - a proven, flexible stack that gives the client full control over products, content, and promotions without needing a developer on call.

A full-featured shopping experience

The store supports product variations with color and image selectors, layered navigation for filtering, and a wishlist system so returning customers can save items for later. The checkout flow is streamlined and mobile-friendly, with multiple payment options configured for the Bulgarian market.

We integrated Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, and Hotjar for tracking and heatmaps - giving the team real insight into how customers browse and buy, so they can continuously improve the experience.

Built for real shopping, not just browsing

The product catalog supports multiple variations per item - size, color, material - with image selectors that let customers see exactly what they are buying. Layered navigation and smart filters make it easy to browse by category, price range, or product type, even as the catalog grows.

We added a wishlist system powered by YITH WooCommerce plugins, so returning visitors can save products for later. The checkout flow is streamlined for speed and simplicity, with payment methods configured specifically for the Bulgarian market.

On the analytics side, we integrated Facebook Pixel for ad tracking, Google Analytics for traffic and conversion data, and Hotjar for session recordings and heatmaps. This gives the Zero Waste team real visibility into how customers find the store, what they browse, and where they drop off - so they can make data-driven decisions about products and promotions.

A store the team can run on their own

Since launch, the Zero Waste Bulgaria team has been managing the store entirely on their own - adding new products, running promotions, updating content, and tracking performance through the analytics dashboards we set up. No developer needed for day-to-day operations.

The WordPress and WooCommerce stack has proven to be the right choice for a small business that needs flexibility without complexity. The store continues to serve a growing community of customers across Bulgaria who are looking for a more sustainable way to live.
